Rocket League Challenge: Play an Online Match in Any Playlist Here’s the breakdown: CHALLENGE 1: LLAMAS, START YOUR ENGINES! While it won’t be kicking off for another few days, Epic has already revealed the challenges and the rewards each will provide players (which is just as well, since Fortnite’s challenges tend to leak ahead of time anyway). The Llama-Rama event will take place from September 26 to October 12. Fortnite players who have been taking on the challenges tied to Season 4's Marvel character skins should have a good idea of what to expect. Completing each challenge will reward players with one Llama-blazoned cosmetic, which they will need to have equipped in order to complete each subsequent challenge. In typical Fortnite fashion, players will be able to earn these cosmetic items through in-game challenges that can be completed while they play normally.

With the move to free-to-play, the game is now on similar footing with Epic’s popular battle royale, and to celebrate that, the upcoming event will give players the opportunity to unlock exclusive Fortnite-themed rewards in Rocket League, along with Rocket League-themed items that can be used in Fortnite. Not only that, the transition has set the stage for this weekend’s crossover event with Fortnite, “Llama-Rama."

Today, the biggest of these changes, Rocket League’s transition to being free-to-play, has finally arrived, bringing with it a seasonal reset and the removal of the game from Steam’s storefront. When Rocket League developer Psyonix was acquired by Epic Games last year, it was clear that changes would be coming to the popular car-soccer game.
